A Trapdoor U.S. Springfield rifle model 1884. barrel with an oxidized poor bore. The barrel has a brown patina and a brass front sight and a v-notch semi-buckhorn rear. The top flat is maker-marked “M.Dickson/&/J.J.Gilmore” and “Louisville KY”; the back-action lock-plate is also marked “M.Dickson”. Other features include a brass nose-cap, thimbles, tailpipe, dual spur trigger-guard, faceted butt-plate and simple toe-plate. The maple stock shows much of the original varnish. Also equipped with double set triggers and a dual-acting lock. Serial Number 44593.
