An acrylic painting on canvas of a seated figure. This painting depicts a woman seated on a starkly silhouetted chair, wearing a pink dress clutching at a large bouquet of orange, cream and red flowers. She stares onward with sunken eyes, as her hair slightly obscures her vision. To the top right corner of the composition is a painted signature appearing to read ‘Able James’. The painting is presented in a stained wooden frame with hanging wire to the verso.

- craquelure present at top left by subject’s hair; scratches and scuffs throughout frame; residue on painting at bottom right.
