An intaglio print on paper by noted artist Robert Lohman. Titled “Figures” in pencil lower center and features three abstracted figures in black and white. Signed in pencil lower right and dated 1986 lower left. This is an artist’s proof. Unframed. Image measures 5” x 8”.

Robert Lohman (American; 1919 – 2001) was a sculptor and painter who worked in a variety of media including wood, plaster, oil paint, watercolor, ceramics and bronze. He studied at the John Herron Art Institute and completed graduate degrees at Cranbrook Academy of Art and Yale University. His teachers included Maija Grotell and Gaetano Cecere. He assisted Carl Milles at Cranbrook before becoming Director of Fine Arts there from 1947-49. He also taught at Washington University in St. Louis and the Indianapolis Art League for 10 years. Among his many accomplishments as an artist, he designed the medal for the Indy 500 Pacemaker Club, 1965, and the medal to represent the US at the Exposition Internationale de la Medaille in Athens, 1966.
