Dutch Sallander Wall Clock

A Dutch Sallander wall clock. The clock is described as having a quiet elegance with its solid walnut case and brass ornaments and is from the Sallander region of the Netherlands and is circa 1969. The clock features a curved bonnet with brass fretwork displaying the four winds and ebonized side columns flanking a glass front door. The door displays a silver face with black Roman numerals and serpentine hands set on a brass center with a hand engraved Dutch image. The clock also features raised brass spandrels surrounding the face and a moon phase clock above with a yellow moon set on a blue sky and brass hemispheres. Other features of the clock include a glass paneled sides, a sunburst embossed brass pendulum, brass cylinder weights on chains, an 8 day time and strike movement, a hinged door on the verso and a tapered base. The clock has a hook for hanging on the verso and is labeled ‘Wuba’ on the door.
