An R & L Atkins early American triple decker clock. The clock features a goldtone eagle splat on a wood and veneer case with a mahogany finish. The case features wood side columns with goldtone caps and a wood framed, glass front door that displays a white face with painted black Roman numerals, two brass key arbors and black hands set on a brass open escapment. Other features of the clock include two wood compartments with decorative glass front doors that have a reverse painted image. The doors display a goldtone eagle on blue and a floral design with a blue and white motif. The clock features an 8-day time and strike, weight driven movement with iron weights and stands on wood bun feet with a hook on the verso for mounting. The clock is labeled ‘Atkins’ on the interior.
