A watercolor, ink, and graphite painting on paper by listed American artist Robert Herrmann (1922-1996). This work features a truncated architectural scene comprised of fine delineations filled with saturated pigments. It is initialed to the lower right and is presented matted.
Herrmann acquired his formal artistic and architectural training at the University of Cincinnati, University of Wisconsin, Ohio State University, University of Iowa, and Columbia University. While professionally trained, he chose to never exhibit his work publicly, making his first solo exhibit posthumous. He is known for his precisionist style and his paintings of architectural landscapes.
