Rare Pair of Tiffany & Co. Brass Civil War Spurs

Item Details

A rare pair of Tiffany & Co. brass and leather civil war spurs. The spurs were made by the renowned jewelry company who supplied the Union with various items to include swords, buttons and spurs. The arched brass spurs with a floral chased pattern are stamped ‘Tiffany & Co./New York’ to the inside band with star burst rowels and leather boot straps. While the stirrups are made of brass, testing does pick up evidence of a gold wash.
A nearly identical pair of stirrups are exhibited at the New-York Historical Museum and Library having belonged to Brigadier General John F. Pierson who served from 1861 – 1866.
