A landscape oil painting by Lola M. Spencer. This oil painting is by American painter Lola M. Spencer (1850-1930). This piece depicts a rural American landscape featuring a dirt path with an Ox drawn cart in the foreground, a grouping of trees around a cottage in the mid ground, and a body of water reflecting the mountains and sky in the background. This piece is signed to the lower right corner. It is presented in an open wooden frame with a wire hanger to the verso. A label to the verso of the frame features a short artist’s biography and dated this piece to ‘1886’.

Condition

- edge wear to frame, pieces of gesso have cracked off the inner frame as well as a the corners of outer frame. Canvas shows accretion and some cracking of paint.
