Peter Robert Keil Original Oil Painting on Board
Item Details
An original oil painting on board by very well-listed and prolific contemporary German Neo-Expressionist Peter Robert Keil (Berlin; born 1942). The abstract painting features a female nude rendered in bold expressionistic lines over a grayish blue background and a red circle and yellow triangle. The work is signed to the lower right and a certificate of authenticity is attached to the verso. It is presented without framing.
Influenced by German Expressionism and graffiti elements, Keil is known for his simplified abstractions of traditional art subjects. He studied under Otto Nagel at a young age and developed relationships with other renowned artists such as Joan Miro. As Keil abandoned realism and developed his signature style, he used more vibrant colors rapidly applied with large gestural brushstrokes resembling the abstract style of Picasso.
