An assortment of seven vintage and antique hardcover books. This collection features a third printing of The Weary Blues, the first book by poet Langston Hughes, published by Alfred A. Knopf in October 1926; other highlights include an early edition of City Ways and Company Streets by Private Charles Divine (New York: Moffat, Yard & Company, 1918) and an autographed copy of Old Aunt Sarah’s Kitchen and Other Poems by Will R. Hill (Oakland, CA: Goodhue Printing Company, 1924). This collection also includes a 1757 edition of The Builder’s Jewel; or, the Youth’s Instructor, and, Workman’s Rememberer by B. and T. Langley (London: printed for R. Ware, 1757), a pocket-sized guide which features copper plate engravings demonstrating types of columns, cornices, domes and other architectural features.
