Antique J.B. & S.M. Knowles Sterling Scroll Rimmed Dish with American Serveware

Item Details

An assortment of late 19th century and early 20th century sterling silver serving dishes. Featured is an oval bread tray with lobed edges accented by repoussé scrolls and beaded trim by Howard Sterling Co. (active 1878-1901) and a small round condiment dish by Whiting Mfg. Co. The dish features a wide rim decorated with heavily chased shell, scroll, and foliate designs. Also included is an oval scroll-and-flower rimmed bread tray with beaded accents by J.B. & S.M. Knowles (active 1875-1905), and an oval dish featuring a pierced edge with a scrolled rim and beaded inner border by Simons Brothers (active 1840-present). The underside of each item features a maker’s mark and two of the trays have a personalized engraving to the center. The total approximate weight is 11.895 ozt.
