A mixed media composition on paper with pressed flowers and feathers from the ‘Dakota Prairie Pictures,’ by listed self-taught American artist Ida Bisek Prokop (1902-1990). The work is comprised of bright pressed flowers with turkey and pheasant feathers assembled to portray a floral still life with printed elements. To the bottom left the work is signed in graphite. To the verso, a gallery label is adhered with additional information about ‘Dakota Prairie Pictures,’ and some of the materials used in the image. The composition is presented under glass with a wooden frame.
Condition
- some wear and scratches to the frame; some dirt and discoloration below the glass; to the verso, some staining and water damage to protective paper.
