A folio cover for the volume three of the 1848 publication of The Various Quadrupeds of North America by artist John James Audubon (American, 1785 – 1851), with text by Rev. John Bachman (American, 1790 – 1874). The 1848 folio was published by Audubon in New York City. The cover sheet is housed against a layer of white foam-core board and wrapped in protective plastic.
Condition
- minor dents to the foam-core board; general toning to the paper, concentrated to the upper left and right corners; dark area of discoloration to the paper in the lower left corner.
