Vintage Apple IIe Computer with Accessories
Item Details
A vintage Apple IIe personal computer, dating to 1985 or 1986, with accessories. Includes an Enhanced Apple IIe console, with a 65C02 processor, 64kb RAM, and a built-in keyboard. Also included are an 11’ diagonal monitor, two floppy disk drives, and a dot-matrix computer. This piece was salvaged from the metallurgical laboratory of the Johnstown, Pennsylvania steel mill by Joseph Hensel.
Based out of Pennsylvania, Joseph Hensel creates re-purposed works of art from original industrial artifacts. Wooden molds for metal machine castings, old electrical equipment, and lighting are salvaged and transformed into both functional and aesthetic creations such as clocks, tables, lighting fixtures, and more. He not only breathes new life into pieces from America’s industrial golden age, but also provides connections to their past by documenting the pieces’ original homes and by providing copies of company manufacturing records as ‘birth certificates’ when available.
