Item Details
A hand-knotted Karachi Joshegan wool area rug. It features a diamond-shaped central pendant medallion in a palette of scarlet, mint green, peach, indigo and cream. The central medallion is surrounded by a pattern of palmettes and floral elements with lancet leaves and bouquets in indigo, rose, ruby, pale blue and yellow. It has a primary border of lotus flowers and palmettes on an indigo ground, framed by floral and foliate guard borders in the field colors. It has overcast edges with a natural cotton warp fringe to either end. The rug is marked to reverse, “Hand Knotted, Made in Pakistan, 100% Wool”.
