Leonard Baskin Bowdoin College Museum Of Art Exhibit Booklet

A vintage exhibit booklet titled ‘Leonard Baskin’, published in 1962 for the major exhibition of work of contemporary American artist, Leonard Baskin, which was shown at the Bowdoin College Museum Of Art in Brunswick, Maine. Bound to the inside is a woodblock print by Baskin of Hendrick Goltzius which is signed in pencil to the lower right. The print states that the portrait was ‘Printed from the block at the Gehenna Press’. The booklet was designed by Leonard Baskin as stated to the back inside page. The type was set at the Stinehour Press and the book was printed at the Meriden Gravure Company. The book is full of black and white photographic images of Baskin’s sculpture, drawings and prints in the exhibit. And there is a list of letter press books published by Gehenna Press Books.

Condition

There is discoloration and small brown spots to the cover. The inside pages have light discoloration to the edges.
