19th Century Marietta Foundry Glue Pot with Vintage Cast Iron
Item Details
An eight piece assortment of vintage and antique cast iron. Included is a glue pot by Marietta Foundries of Pennsylvania. This vessel would have been used with a smaller pot as a double boiler to melt glue. It bears an impressed logo to the rim and is likely dated to the second half of the 19th century. It is accompanied by three assorted dogs figurines, including a painted door stop by Department 56, marked to the verso. A shoe form and three assorted trivets are also included.
Condition
- crack to base of pot; various tarnish and oxidation throughout including pitting; wear to decoration on doorstop; spots of residue, minor marks and scuffs.
