Reproduction Sphinx Sculpture

Item Details

A reproduction Sphinx sculpture based off one of the earliest archaic sphinxes found on a grave in Spata (Greece). This piece is constructed from plaster and depicts the head of a woman on the body of winged lion. It is fixed to a wooden base with a blond wood veneer. There is no apparent maker’s mark.

Condition

- to Poor due to moderate chips to the finish throughout and extensive wear to the wood veneer base.
