Antique Scribe's Box Inkwell

Item Details

An antique brass qalamdam divit or scribe’s box inkwell. The piece features a pen case with a diamond motif to the center and a pair of inkwells to the side. The set would have been used with a reed pen and ink by a traveling scribe during the late Ottoman empire.

Condition

- sticker residue present; extensive oxidation and wear to the design; missing stoppers to the inkwells.
