A 1644 copy of Iustinus ex M. Zuerii Boxhornii Recensione (Justinus, Reviewed by M. Zuerius van Boxhorn) by Marcus Zuerius van Boxhorn (Dutch, 1612-1653) a linguist and professor at the University of Leiden. Published in 1644 in Venice and bound in full leather. Boxhorn was the first to hypothesize the existence of a proto language which he called ‘Scythian’ and linking the Indo-European language family. He was also known for his commentary on Roman works and Latin poetry inspired by them.
