Vintage Rococo Style Swivel Side Table with Crossbanded Top

Item Details

A vintage Rococo style swivel side table with a crossbanded top. The wood and gesso frame has a cream-painted finish with gilt accents. It features a round, dished top with mixed-wood veneers at the center surrounded by scalloped, foliate-carved edges. The top is supported by four pierced, leaf-shaped uprights continuing to an open, lower shelf. The table rises on a swiveling, foliate-carved base with four raised feet. The underside retains a couple of illegible inscriptions, otherwise there are no maker’s marks.

Condition

- scattered scratches, marks, and finish losses; scattered chips/losses to gesso; top edge with a couple of repaired breaks; some light/stable cracks, mostly at construction joints.
