Vintage Jacobean Style Open-Arm, Wing Chairs
Item Details
A pair of vintage Jacobean style open-arm, wing chairs. The pickled oak frames are upholstered in cream-colored vinyl with brass-tone tacks along the edges. They feature arched crests above padded backs and seats flanked by shaped wings continuing to open, padded arms. The chairs rise on block- and vase-turned, front legs centered by serpentine aprons and they are joined to the square, back legs by box stretchers. There are no maker’s marks.

Condition
- frames with scattered surface wear including scratches, scuffs, and nicks/chips; some wear/losses to pickled finish, mostly to lower parts of legs and to stretchers; upholstery with scattered marks/stains; underside of seats with torn/missing dust covers; one chair with loose stretchers in the front and back; other chair with a couple missing tacks on handholds and a slightly larger chip to back, left leg; some oxidation to tacks; upholstery and pickled finish are possibly not original.
