Vintage Louis XV Style Bombé Commode with Faux-Marble Top
Item Details
A vintage Louis XV style bombé commode with a faux-marble top. The commode features a shaped, wooden top with molded edges, which has been hand-painted to simulate green marble with white and black veins. The top is removable and it rests on a walnut-veneered case with a stack of three dovetailed, long drawers over a shaped apron with applied, brass-tone trim and a frontal mount. The drawers are fitted with scrolled-foliate, brass-tone handles and they are flanked by outset stiles with figural, brass-tone mounts and foliate sabots. The case interior and drawer secondaries retain illegible markings.
