A Chinese gouache painting on paper mounted to a hanging scroll. The piece depicts a pair of cranes roosting near lily pads and lotus flowers, as a colorful bird flies overhead. It is inscribed to the upper left with black ink and is marked with two red seals. This work is mounted as a hanging scroll on paper embellished with silk gauze. It is weighted with a dowel and wooden knobs to the lower section and hangs with a string affixed to the upper section.

Condition

- moderate to severe discoloration to paper; tears along top rod; wear to edges; scuffs to wood finials; stains and discoloration to verso.
