A Chinese gouache painting of a man and dog on hanging scroll. This piece depicts a man with a white beard, a worn cowboy hat on his head and an over-sized calligraphy brush in one hand. His black-coated dog sits next to him with a serious expression on his furry face. The painting features a signature seal and a block of calligraphic writing to its upper left, and is mounted on silk-like gauze with a paper backing, a wooden rod to one end and a length of string for hanging and rolling at its top.

Condition

- pigments have bleed through to the verso; the paper backing is worn with some dirt present.
