19th Century Jackfield Staffordshire Pottery Hobnail Teapot

Item Details

A 19th century Jackfield Staffordshire pottery tea pot in ‘Hobnail’ with a fine diamond shaped quilted texture throughout and glossy black glaze. The squat tea pot has a faux bamboo handle with a domed lid and flower finial. This style of Jackfield Staffordshire was made as an affordable alternative for those who could not afford to purchase Wedgwood’s Basalt Tea Wares but desired to own fashionable black tea wares which Wedgwood designed to make women’s hands appear whiter when serving tea.
