A pastel drawing titled Doge Palace by Indiana-born artist Nelson Sears (born 1905). This drawing depicts the Venetian Gothic palace in Italy called Doge Palace. It is rendered with naturalistic form with expressive detailing. These piece is signed ‘N. Sears ’64’ to the lower right corner of the paper. This drawing is presented in an ornate gold tone wooden frame, under glass, and with a wire hanger to the verso. A short artist biography is affixed to the frame backing.

Condition

- debris under glass; small tear to lower left edge of paper; staining along right edge of paper; pieces of decorative moulding missing; surface wear and tonal variation to frame.
