Fred Webster 1994 Painted Wood Folk Art Sculpture

Item Details

A Folk Art sculpture of painted, carved wood and popsicle sticks by Alabama artist Fred Webster. This piece depicts two figures, both facing the same direction, the man in front with his arms at his sides, and the man behind with a spiked crown on his head and his arms outstretched towards the man in front of him. They stand on a green base with a fence along the rear two sides, upon which a red bird is perched in the corner. A label to the feet of the rear man is partially inscribed ‘Peter’, with the rest worn away, and the piece is dated 1994 to the underside.
