Circa 1835 Bi-Color Thomas Mayer "Canova" Transferware Covered Dish

Item Details

A circa 1835 bi-color transferware covered dish in the pattern Canova by Thomas Mayer. The plate has side handles and red borders with florals and waterscapes while the center landscape in green illustrates classic architecture and an urn. The domed lid has similar scenes in red with a floral finial. The dish is ink stamped to the bottom with a cartouche reading ‘T. Mayer, Longport’.

Condition

- small chip to the underside and several rough spots along the edge.
