Vintage Carved Chinese Lunch Box Baskets
Item Details
A pair of vintage carved wooden Chinese lunch box baskets. The collection includes a covered tapered octagonal basket with a carved handle and panels to the front and back. The carvings feature figures, arabesques, and scrollwork designs. The collection also includes a covered tapered oval basket with ornate carved and pierced handle and metal hasp to the lid. The carving features a foliate motif throughout. Both pieces retain two paper labels marked ‘Made in China’ to the underside.
Condition
- cracks and wear to the wood noted; oxidation to metal noted.
