An antique Victorian Gothic Revival side chair, circa third quarter of the 19th century. The rosewood and rosewood-grained frame is upholstered in burgundy, imitation-leather fabric. It features a crocketed, cathedral back with pierced arches and carved tracery flanked by elaborately-turned finials and stiles above a padded, spring seat and S-scrolled, hip supports. The chair rises on ring-turned legs, centered in the front by a scrolled and carved seat rail, and ending in porcelain casters.

Condition
- scattered finish wear/losses, with heavier flaking to rear seat rail; finial at top of back is broken/missing with a crack to crest just below; upholstery is later; one canvas support strap on underside of seat is partially torn; other scratches and nicks as would be expected with age and use.
