An African style carved soapstone sculpture of a monkey. This stylized sculpture depicts what appears to be a baboon presented with clasped hands, staring forward happily. The area around the hands is slightly chiseled, emerging from the perforated ground in a low relief. To the underside is an etched signature that appears to read ‘John’.
