Robert E. Wood Limited Edition Offset Lithographs on Paper

Item Details

An assortment of three limited edition offset lithographs on paper with imagery from earlier watercolors by listed artist Robert E. Wood (Canadian, 1919 – 1980). Included is Santorini (3 / 400), Santorini (3 / 400), and Jane and R-3 (3 / 1,000). Both Santorini works are titled, editioned, and singed by the artist in graphite to the lower margin. Jane and R-3 is editioned and singed by the artist in graphite, and titled and signed in plate. The works are presented as loose prints without frames.

Wood was best known for his watercolor landscapes. The artist received his formal training at the Ontario College of Art under artists Arthur Lismer (English-Canadian, 1885 – 1969) and Fred Varley (Canadian, 1881 – 1969). Wood’s paintings express his deep love and appreciation for nature. His landscapes border between abstraction and representation, often with forms manifesting through color. Today, Wood’s art can be found in a variety of private collections.

Condition

- minor wear to the corners of the papers; minor discoloration to the margins; adhesive tape to the verso of the smallest print.
