A vintage handwoven Bessarabian wool kilim. This flatweave area rug is rendered in an abrashed palette of scarlet, stone, black, tangerine, teal, saffron, ivory, and plum. The scarlet hued field features a large graphic floral motif to the center, along with a small arrangement to each corner serving as the spandrels. Framing the field is an unresolved leaf and blossom patterned border with sawtooth edges. Finishing this rug are overcast selvedges and a wool warp fringe to the ends, as well as a cotton binding to the underside. Unlabeled.
