A sterling silver flatware set by Dominick & Haff of New York, NY (active 1872-1928). Each piece features a flared handle with rounded tip and an engraved design of acanthus leaves. The seventy-two piece set includes seven butter spreaders, nine salad forks, six iced tea spoons, five cocktail forks, a salad serving fork and spoon set, a ladle, ten teaspoons, a master butter knife, a shell sugar spoon, a jelly server, a shell bon bon spoon, eight dinner forks, eight soup spoons, and two serving spoons, all with the maker’s mark and ‘Sterling’ to the backs. They are presented with a carving fork and knife set and eight dinner knives with sterling hollow handles. Also included is a lettuce fork by Gorham and a cheese server with a hollow handle, both in different patterns. Most pieces have personalized engravings to their handles, and the set is presented in a wooden flatware chest with mauve pink felt-like interior lining. The total approximate weight, excluding pieces with hollow handles, is 79.920 ozt.
