A collection of ten late 19th century Japanese hand colored woodblock prints after bijin-ga paintings of beautiful women. Each lithograph depicts elegant women in genre subjects. Publisher and date seals are present in the left margin of each, dating them to circa 1894 (明治二十八年, Meiji 28). The editor for the series is Fukui Kinjiro (福井金二郎), known for publishing sized-down prints after Japanese paintings in the 1890s. Each is presented identically behind glass, a gold tone mat with a black bevel, a light blue textured mat and a gold tone rounded wooden frame. These works are wired and ready to hang.
