Vintage Louis XVI Style High-Back Fauteuil with Fortuny-Inspired Upholstery

Item Details

A vintage Louis XVI style high-back fauteuil with Fortuny-inspired upholstery. The walnut-stained, hardwood frame is covered in yellow and white, foliate-patterned fabric. It features a rectangular, padded back with carved and molded edges continuing to open arms with scrolled, acanthine handholds. The seat is fitted with a removable cushion and the chair rises on turned and fluted legs with rosette-carved, top blocks and toupie feet. There are no maker’s marks.
