A hand-knotted Indo-Heriz runner. This Persian-style wool rug, attributed to Indian weavers, is rendered in a palette of cranberry, ivory, midnight blue, camel, emerald and gray. It begins with two vertically arranged Karaja-style medallions over a cranberry field. The field is filled with stylized depictions of vines, foliage, flowers, and palmettes. Framing the field are compound borders, including a turtle-patterned primary border grounded in deep midnight blue. Selvedges are overcast, the rug finishing at each end with tan cotton warp fringe. Unlabeled.
