A brass figurine of the Medicine Buddha. This piece depicts Bhaisajyaguru (Bhaisajya-guru-vaidurya-prabha-raja), Medicine Master of Mahayana Buddhism, seated in the lotus position, with his left hand positioned as if to hold a bowl, and his right hand holding forth a sprig of medicinal herbs. This Buddha is seated on a base edged with the pattern of lotus flowers.
Condition
- tarnish overall; light corrosion; scuffs marks at edges; no bowl in hand.
