Vintage Hand-Knotted Persian Malayer Wool Area Rug
Item Details
A vintage hand-knotted Persian Malayer area rug. This wool rug begins with a quatrefoil floral medallion and palmette pendants with complimentary spandrels. The remaining field offers numerous floral elements along with tree forms worked in onyx, ivory, red, mossy-grey and aqua. Framing the rug is a sawtooth minor border, flower head chained guard borders and a main border featuring stylized floral sprays and Shah Abbasi patterns. Selvedges are overcast, the rug finishing with natural warp fringe at either end. Labeled with a tag to the verso indicating country of origin.
