Vintage Mallard Duck Decoy with Glass Eyes

Item Details

A vintage Mallard duck decoy. This wooden decoy features a Mallard drake with a green head, yellow bill, and glass eyes, and a green wing feathers to the flank and a black tail. The underside sports a diagonally mounted weight and front hook, and is marked with the word ‘Mallard’ and a serial number, partially covered by the weight, and some other illegible stamped text.

Condition

- wear and fading to finish overall; crack and repair to neck; chipping overall, especially at tail; two pits in side of head; evidence that weight to underside is not original; pit and scratches from removed piece at underside rear.
