Antique Victorian Eastlake Walnut Dresser with Marble Top
Item Details
An antique Victorian Eastlake walnut dresser with a white marble top, circa 1880. The dresser features a shaped, molded pediment with a turned element and burl walnut panels above a beveled and framed shield shaped mirror flanked by shaped supports with burl walnut panels and candle shelves. The supports rest on two glove boxes with drawers with knapp or scallop-and-dowel joints (in use 1871-1900), escutcheons, and turned stiles. A slab of white and grey marble rests between the two glove boxes and overhangs three stacked, full-length drawers with knapp or scallop-and-dowel joints (in use 1871-1900), burl walnut panels, carved and incised cup pulls, and escutcheons. The drawers are flanked by turned and reeded stiles. The piece rests on bracket feet atop casters.
