Item Details
A vintage hand-knotted Persian Sarouk wool area rug. This beautiful rug is rendered in a palette of cranberry, indigo, sky blue, sage, wheat. rose, and ivory. The cranberry colored field features clusters of ornately designed floral bouquets throughout, with some presented in vases. Framing the field are equally elaborate borders including a main stylized herati patterned border with added blossoms, as well as multiple floral meander guard borders. The cranberry grounded guard border also features eight inscriptions total, near the ends. Finishing this rug are overcast selvedges and bound ends, as well as visible blue weft threads to the underside. Labeled ‘Made in Iran’.
