A circa 1980s charcoal drawing on paper by an anonymous artist. The piece depicts a man in a fishing cap and cardigan smoking a pipe as he reads flyers and advertisements posted on the side of a building at a small marina. The illustration is rendered in a palette of grey tones against an off-white ground. It is matted in off-white and presented under glass in a wooden frame fitted with hanging wire to the verso. The frame backing includes a notation in pencil that appears to read ‘Roto cover, Jan 2, with line of type’.

Condition

- discoloration and foxing throughout drawing and matting; nicks, scuffing and edge wear to frame; frame joints do not meet evenly.
