Ned Jacob Charcoal Drawing

A charcoal drawing on paper by listed American artist Ned Jacob (b. 1938). This drawing depicts a Native American man wearing a cloak playing a drum and singing. The drawing is initialed by hand in charcoal to the left side and is housed in a silver tone wooden frame under glass. The verso features a hand-written note reading ‘This drawing was exhibited at the Nat. Cowboy Hall of Fame Mar. 4 May 14 1972- on loan from the collection of Dr. Louis W. Belschner Jr.’ The verso also features a stamp reading ‘Reproduction Rights Reserved by the Aritst Ned Jacob.’
Ned Jacob was born in Tennessee in 1938 and eventually made Denver, Colorado his home. He is known for his contemporary Western paintings and in particular for his portraits of Native Americans.
Condition
- some discoloration to fillet; minor marks to linen liner; scratches and abrasions throughout frame; discoloration and loss to finish of frame.
