Hand-Knotted Baluch Prayer Rug
Item Details
A hand-knotted Baluch prayer rug. This prayer rug is attributed to Afghani weavers, it offers a mosque mihrab framed with X motifs along with Laleh Abassi and hooked elements framed with S motifs to the field. Framing the rug is a stars and bars main border flanked by another border of X motifs. The rug is worked in charcoal grey, blue, pink, orange and ivory. Selvedges are double overcast, the rug finishing with a kilim skirt, pink and grey chain stitch and camel hair knotted fringe to either end. Unlabeled.
