Hand-Knotted Yazd Wool Area Rug
Item Details
A hand-knotted Persain Yazd wool area rug. The rectangular rug has been worked in abrash shades of crimson, indigo, ivory, olive, aqua, sky blue, tea, dove gray, coral, and cornsilk. The rug features a pendant diamond medallion on a crimson field populated with arabesque vines, palmettes, and flowers. The spandrels have three bands of colors infilled with similar motifs. Minor borders feature carnation and meander patterns. The wide primary Rhodian border incorporates the colors on a dark blue background. The selvedges are overcast and there is short fringe at each end.
