Item Details
A vintage handwoven Persian Mahal Sarouk wool area rug. This rug is rendered in an abrashed palette of carnation, taupe, mocha, peacock blue, sand, violet, and apricot. The carnation hued field begins with a central floral medallion framed by large palmettes and floral motifs. The field also features scrolling vines with flowers and lancette leaves, along with violet grounded spandrels, and partial medallions to each end. Framing the field is an ornately designed floral meander, as well as a pair of carnation meander guard borders. Finishing this rug are overcast selvedges and a short warp fringe to the ends. Unlabeled.
