Hand-Knotted Persian Mashhad Wool Area Rug
Item Details
A hand-knotted Persian Mashhad area rug. This wool rug offers a highly populated field with ornate floral designs beginning with a central medallion. It is worked in a palette of red, indigo, taupe, ivory, pink, cinnamon and olive green. The layered spandrels are grounded in indigo with complimentary floral elements including Shah Abbasi patterns. Framing the rug are several carnation meander guard borders and a main palmette border. Selvedges are overcast, the rug finishing with short warp fringe at either end.
