Vintage Hand-Knotted Persian Qom Wool Area Rug
Item Details
A vintage hand-knotted Persian Qom wool area rug. This rug is rendered in an abrashed palette of scarlet, azure, plum, olive, ivory, wheat, slate, and aqua. The azure colored field is over taken by a large crenelated lozenge grounded in scarlet, and features a large lobed pendant medallion. The lozenge also features large vase forms and blooms, while the field is infilled with a lattice of rosettes, and features small wheat grounded spandrels. Framing the ornate field is a main blossom and palmette patterned border with added flowering branches, as well as a pair of carnation meander guard borders, and sawtooth patterned minor borders. Finishing this rug are overcast selvedges and an ivory warp fringe to the ends. Unlabeled.
